Ever since becoming a stay at home mom; the constant cleaning, scrubbing, washing of things made my nails weak. I could not grow my nails out because they were breaking as soon as there was some growth. My nails were oddly shaped from the breakage and looked pretty gross.
I tried having gel nails on and off for a while but that didn’t really stop the breakage or chipping. Last year, in January 2018 I discovered SNS. I first heard about SNS nails through social media and decided to give it a try. Luckily I have a nail salon near me that offers the service and they are known for being the best in town with SNS.
So what is SNS?
It’s a dip powder system and it stands for Signature Nail Systems. My manicurist applies a clear base coat, then each of my nails is dipped into a white powder and after each nail is dipped in the powder color of my choice twice, she then applies a top coat and it becomes hard. Harder than a gel manicure. To remove, you soak your nails in acetone for the paint to come off.
How long does it last?
It lasts about 3 to 4 weeks and by that time, my nails are already way too long and just get in the way so I have to cut them.
In my area the average cost for SNS is around $35. It is a bit pricey but in my opinion totally worth it.
It is everything it’s hyped up to be. My nails have grown to lengths they never did before and also look stronger and healthier.
Here is my most recent nail salon visit. This is what my nails look like after using SNS on and off for a year.
I won’t go back to using gel, it’s just not worth it and i feel like acrylics are more harmful to my nails. I love everything about the SNS manicure.
